Several interesting films were released as Christmas treats. Among them, a youthful entertainer titled Bad Girlz also hit the screens. The film generated decent buzz with its teaser, and the presence of Renu Desai in a key role further increased audience interest. Let us see how much this film manages to entertain viewers.

Plot:

Four young women from a village move to the city for studies and stay in a hostel. Before settling down into marriage, they decide to enjoy life and go on a trip to Malaysia. What situations do they face during this trip? What kind of problems do they get into? How do they deal with those issues, and what ultimately happens, forms the story of the film.

What about on-screen performances?

The film largely benefits from the performances of its lead actresses, Aanchal Gowda, Payal Chengappa, Roshini, and Yashna, who bring freshness and energy to the narrative.

Each of them handles her role with confidence, and their chemistry as a group works well on screen. Their comic timing is one of the film’s strengths, and several light-hearted moments click mainly because of their performances.

They also manage to balance fun with emotion, especially in scenes that reflect friendship and personal struggles. Adding to the entertainment are Moin and Rohan Surya, who contribute significantly through comedy.

While their characters do not leave a strong impression in the first half, they find a better rhythm in the second half. Their humor becomes more effective as the story progresses.

What about off-screen talents?

Bad Girlz effectively shows the problems women face when they are not allowed to live life on their own terms and how such situations influence their behavior.

The social message connects reasonably well, emotions work to an extent, and some scenes appeal to the youth. But the story feels routine and familiar.

With a better presentation and stronger plot points, the film could have been more engaging. The actresses’ accents become irritating at times, especially during the first half Malaysia episodes.

Renu Desai, who plays a key role, is not used effectively in the narrative. The second half focuses too much on crime comedy, causing the main plot to lose direction.

Director Phani Pradeep Dhulipudi’s story feels flat but he managed to execute good performances and comedy from his actors. The way he blended comedy and thriller looks good, though the film sounds and feels predictable, and the emotional scenes do not work well.

Cinematography is good. Songs in the first half are unimpressive, but two songs in the second half are decent. The background score is okay.

What’s Hot?

Comedy episodes
Social message

What’s Not?

Predictable narrative
Slow pace
Crime angle in the film

Verdict:

Overall, Bad Girls offers youthful content but could not fully engage due to its routine treatment. While comedy scenes and performances work in parts, the slow narration and predictable story limit its appeal. The film may only partly satisfy audiences who enjoy youthful entertainers.
