The consecutive summons of B town actors from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in alleged drug trafficking shook the nation lately. Now NCB has detained another person in link with the ongoing investigation of the Bollywood drug case. A man named Jay Madhukar has been arrested for allegedly peddling drugs to Bollywood celebs. He was also in touch with Kshitij Ravi Prasad, (the former executive producer and director associated with Karan Johar’s Dharma productions), who has been in NCB custody since a month.
Rejecting the bail plea of Kshitij Prasad, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Wednesday told the court that his claim about being coerced to name the filmmaker and Bollywood actors was an “afterthought” and “made for media propaganda”.
Jay Madhukar who hails from Mumbai’s Santacruz area was accused of availing drugs from Nigerians. The NCB officials are now possibly going to grill all top celebs he is associated with in drug scandal. The arrest includes the case registered under 16/2020, along with the other case being 15/2020.
Kshitij Ravi Prasad had been captured by the NCB on September 26 after drugs like cannabis were found at his home. According to sources, Kshitij furnished unacceptable responses and even had asserted that he was ‘framed’ in the situation, being abused and being compelled to offer declarations to ensnare the stars. The agency also claimed that Kshitij might tamper with evidence in the alleged drug case, if disclosed. The bail application on Friday, October 16 is due for hearing from court..The officials had denied the cases and furthermore communicated shock over his association with politicians.
The NCB claimed that he was a part of a drug ring and distribution cartel and that he urged the court to forgo 27A (financing illicit traffic and harboring offenders) of the NDPS Act against him.
