It is known that two new teams are adding to the Indian Premier League for the 2022 edition. The mega T20 league, which is already a triumph with eight franchises, is set to grow even bigger from next year. Arrangements are also being made for that.
In this context, the BCCI has recently issued tenders for the management of two new franchises and their respective teams. Bids for new teams can be made till October 5. As per reports, the BCCI is planning to have an e-bidding for the two new teams on October 17.
“The Governing Council of the IPL invites bids to acquire the right to own and operate 1 (one) of the 2 (two) new teams proposed to be introduced to take part in the Indian Premier League from the IPL 2022 season, through a tender process,” the BCCI had said in a statement.
Among the venues where the teams could be based include Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Pune. With this, a total of ten teams will be making a noise in the IPL from next year. Meanwhile, the final match of the IPL 2021 will be played on October 15 as the rest of the season starts again from next Sunday.
