Yet another fire accident broke out in Andhra Pradesh but this time it is in Vijayawada. Hotel Swarna palace which is being used as a COVID care center by the Ramesh Hospital caught fire early this morning.
The fire department reached the hotel within minutes but the flames are just controllable at the moment.
It is being said that there are 40 people in the hotel at the time when the fire broke out and 30 people among them are COVID patients and 10 people are hospital staff. It is believed that 9 people are already dead. Due to this major fire accident, smoke evolved from all sides of the hotel making it difficult for the COVID patients inside to breathe.
It is such a major fire accident and the flames are just uncontrollable at the moment. The rescued patients have been transferred to the Labbipet, Metropolitan hotel Covid care centers. It was the ground floor and first floor in which the fire first broke out and swiftly spread to other floors.
The people on the first floor jumped off the building and the Police assume that the short circuit may be the reason for this major fire accident. As the staircase in the hotel also caught fire, the police and the fire department rescued some people through ladders. More details and official confirmation about dead and injured are awaited.
