The candidates of YSRCP, BJP-Janasena and Congress have filed nominations for the forthcoming Tirupati by-poll. With the death of sitting MP Balli Durgaprasad Rao in September 2019, the Election Commission set the stage to conduct the by-polls on April 17.
Congress candidate Chinta Mohan, who has contested from Tirupati Lok Sabha seat nine times and won six times as an MP, has no assets. On the other hand, YSRCP candidate Dr M Gurumoorthy doesn’t even own a car while BJP candidate Ratna Prabha has assets worth Rs. 19.50 crore. According to the affidavit submitted by the candidates contesting the Tirupati by-election on Monday, these are the details of their assets.
Dr M Gurumoorthy family assets are worth Rs. 47.25 lakhs. He has assets worth Rs 10, 66,515 lakh in his name while Rs 24,92,529 valuable assets in her wife’s Navyakiran name. She has a car worth Rs 7 lakh. They own two acres of agricultural land in Manna Samudram village, 2,610 square feet house. As per the current market value of these assets are worth five lakhs. They have neither debts nor criminal cases.
BJP candidate Ratna Prabha, former chief secretary of Karnataka, has family assets worth Rs. 24.68 crore. The value of the assets in the name of Ratna Prabha is Rs. 19,57,75,095. She has liquid cash of Rs 25000. Cash deposits in various banks up to Rs. 2.81 crore, Rs. 28,000 in bonds. 1,250 grams of gold worth Rs 52 lakh, Rs. 1.95 lakh worth of three kg silver, Rs. Two acres of agricultural land worth Rs 16 lakh and non-agricultural land worth Rs 3 crore.
She has a debt of Rs. 2.43 lakh debt in SBI. The rest of the assets are on her husband’s name. He has taken Rs. 17.30 lakh agricultural loan in Andhra Bank. No criminal cases are recorded against them.
Congress candidate Chinta Mohan family has assets worth Rs. 3.27 Cr. His annual income is Rs. 6.10 lakhs as per the affidavit. His family assets are worth Rs 3.27 crore, all in the name of his wife Chinta Revathi.
They have in hand cash of Rs 2 lakh and 400 grams of gold worth Rs 14 40,000. They own 20 cents of non-agricultural land in Tirupati, valued at Rs 1.20 crore. They also own a commercial building worth Rs 95 lakh in Tirupati Ramachandra Nagar. Chinta Mohan has a debt of 19.11 lakhs. No cases were filed against them.
