As the newly formed YSRCP government is completely avoiding Amaravati capital city construction, China’s Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank, took a strong objection to it.
The AIIB wrote to the Centre, about its dissatisfaction with the AP government, as it stopped all the ongoing projects related to the capital city construction and is reviewing them. The bank responded to the issue, after the World Bank withdrew and has also decided to cancel its proposed Rs 1400 Cr loan to the Capital City project.
But unlike World Bank, which remained silent after withdrawing the proposal, AIIB has raised its voice to express concern over Amaravati. For instance, AIIB alone has provided Rs. 7,000 Cr worth loans to AP with which massive projects were taken up in urban drinking water and underground drainage, rural roads and 24-hour uninterrupted power supply project.

The AIIB informed the Centre, that if the works are stopped, the impact of it will be felt in other states too, thus worsening the situation in the future.
The acts of this sort would only project Jagan’s government in a negative light, as it clearly evident that the young CM is only trying to erase the mark of the previous government, for which he is not at all bothered about wasting so many crores of public money.
