After Paper Boy, director Jayashankarr returns with Ari: My Name is Nobody, a mystery thriller that combines philosophy and human emotion. The film stars Vinod Varma, Sai Kumar, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Srikanth Iyengar, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Surabhi Prabhavathi, and Harsha Chemudu, with guest appearances by Suman and Aamani. Released on October 10, 2025, the film has been praised by several dignitaries, including former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu, for its thought-provoking concept.

Story:

The story revolves around six people, each consumed by one of the Arishadvargas — lust, anger, greed, attachment, pride, and envy.

Amul Kumar (Harsha Chemudu), a tea master, is obsessed with spending one night with his favorite star, Sunny Leone.

Aathreyi (Anasuya) envies her co-worker’s beauty and wants to remain young forever.

Gunjan (Subhalekha Sudhakar) craves his family’s wealth.

CI Chaitanya (Srikanth Iyengar) burns with rage while investigating a case.

Lakshmi (Surabhi Prabhavathi) wants her dead husband to come back to life.

Vipranarayana Paswan (Sai Kumar) is driven by arrogance and pride.

All six are drawn to a strange ad that promises, “Your wishes will be fulfilled here.”
They meet a mysterious man (Vinod Varma) who offers to grant their desires — but only under specific conditions. What those conditions are, and how their greed and ego lead to unexpected consequences, forms the rest of the story.

On-Screen Performance:

Sai Kumar delivers a powerful performance with his trademark dialogue delivery. His presence gives the film weight.

Anasuya Bharadwaj plays her part well within limited screen time, portraying jealousy convincingly and looks Good.

Vinod Varma stands out with his calm, composed performance — his mystery holds the audience till the end.

Srikanth Iyengar impresses with his versatility and control.

Harsha Chemudu surprises everyone with emotional depth beyond his usual comedy.

Subhalekha Sudhakar and Surabhi Prabhavathi bring emotional balance and maturity.

Srinivas Reddy and Chammak Chandra’s comedy sequences reflect current trends. These moments might appeal to younger audiences, though some viewers may find them slightly off-tone.

Off-Screen Performance:

Director: Jayashankarr deserves appreciation for attempting a different and philosophical subject like Arishadvargas. His intention to explore the dark side of human desires is clear. While the execution could have been more gripping, his vision deserves respect.

Screenplay: The multi-character narrative is engaging initially, though it loses momentum in the middle. Still, the message at the end redeems it.

Taking: The concept and setup are strong, but a little more cinematic richness and polish could have elevated the experience.

DOP: G.Krishna Prasaad uses decent lighting and composition, especially in the mysterious library portions. The tone suits the thriller mood.

Music & Background Score: Anup Rubens delivers a decent score. The background music supports the tension but doesn’t stand out memorably.

Editing: Avinash Gullinka keeps the film largely smooth, though a few segments feel lengthy. A slightly tighter cut would have helped.

Production Values: Production values are modest. With a slightly higher budget and visual richness, the film could have looked more appealing and intense.

What’s Hot?

Unique and meaningful concept

Sai Kumar and Vinod Varma’s strong performances

Philosophical message with a divine twist

Engaging beginning and thought-provoking ending

What’s Not?

Lag in the middle portion

Uneven pacing and mismatched comedy bits

Average technical finesse

Limited screen presence for key characters

Verdict:

Ari: My Name is Nobody is not just a film; it’s a moral reflection on human nature and desires. The concept is rare and valuable in today’s cinema. Though the execution isn’t flawless, the attempt deserves appreciation. Jayashankarr presents a concept-based thriller that explores human greed, lust, and ego through six intertwined lives. In fact, for the present generation, such message-oriented and value-based films are truly needed. They remind us about the consequences of greed, anger, and arrogance in life. However, if Ari had been made with a richer production design and stronger presentation, it could have made an even bigger impact. Still, it stands out as a different and thought-provoking film that delivers a meaningful message with a touch of spirituality.
