What makes a Virus deadly? Undoubtedly the mortality rate after its spread. But that is not the case in COVID-19. The mortality rate after the infection of its virus is around 3-5% which is much lesser than the other lethal viruses. But the thing that makes COVID-19 deadly is its ease in transmission and the vulnerable nature of the human beings in getting infected.
The lifetime of this virus on various surfaces is too long and hence everyone is hesitant to touch any surface in the fear of possible contamination. Much to their fears, the Andhra Pradesh police force highlighted the possibility of catching coronavirus infection through currency notes and that created terror among the people.
Three of the positive cases in Andhra Pradesh have registered without any travel history or contact with such returnees. The only thing that is linking them with the Virus is currency notes and the police department is very suspicious about it.
One of the three is a teacher from East Godavari district, another is a woman from Krishna district and the other an RMP doctor from Guntur district. Though there has been no proof or establishing evidence of contamination by currency notes of any kind, the DGP office advised the police heads of all cities and districts in the state to encourage digital transactions for safety.
