Cricket fever gripped Mangalagiri as thousands of fans gathered at the Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) International Cricket Stadium to witness the grand finale of the Andhra Premier League (APL). The packed stadium came alive with cheers and excitement as the tournament concluded with a high-voltage clash between Simhadri Vizag Lions and Bhimavaram Bulls.
Andhra Pradesh IT, Human Resources Development, and RTGS Minister Nara Lokesh attended the final as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the title clash by tossing the coin before the match. After winning the toss, Simhadri Vizag Lions elected to bat first.
Before the start of the match, Lokesh interacted with players from both teams and extended his best wishes, encouraging them to play with true sportsmanship and deliver an exciting contest for cricket fans.
Earlier in the day, the minister also inaugurated the commemorative plaque of the modernised ACA International Cricket Stadium at Mangalagiri, marking another milestone in the development of sports infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh. The upgraded stadium is expected to strengthen the state’s ability to host major domestic and international cricket events while providing world-class facilities for players and spectators.
The event was attended by Andhra Cricket Association President Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), ACA Secretary Sana Satish Babu, Vice-President Bandaru Narasimha Rao, Joint Secretary Boyalla Vijay Kumar, Treasurer Dandamudi Srinivas, Councillor Vishnu Danthu, public representatives, officials, sportspersons, and cricket enthusiasts.
The APL final, combined with the inauguration of the upgraded stadium, added to the festive atmosphere in Mangalagiri and reflected the state’s continued focus on strengthening sports infrastructure and promoting cricket across Andhra Pradesh.
