The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office has once again highlighted the power of big-ticket Telugu cinema, with second-day share collections emerging as a strong indicator of audience momentum. Over the years, only a select list of films have managed to post massive AP–TG shares on Day 2, turning these numbers into an all-time benchmark for theatrical pull.
SS Rajamouli’s RRR continues to dominate the charts with a staggering ₹31.63 crore share on Day 2, a record that remains untouched. Close behind are pan-India and big-event films such as Salaar with ₹21.23 crore, Kalki 2898 AD at ₹20 crore, and Pushpa 2: The Rule collecting ₹19.25 crore. These films underline how strong word-of-mouth and festival or weekend advantage can significantly boost second-day revenues.
Other major performers include Devara (Part 1), Adipurush, Baahubali 2, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, Pushpa, KGF Chapter 2 (Dubbed) and The Raja Saab, all of which crossed double-digit shares on their second day in AP–TG. The presence of both original Telugu films and dubbed big-budget releases shows the expanding market appetite for scale-driven cinema.
Interestingly, the list is not limited to only mega-budget ventures. Several medium-range films have also posted impressive Day 2 numbers, proving that strong content and audience connect can compete with star-driven spectacles. Movies like Mirai, Thandel, Tillu Square, Kuberaa, Uppena, HIT 3, Dasara, Virupaksha, Kushi, and Love Story recorded solid second-day shares, reflecting sustained footfalls beyond the opening day rush.
Trade experts often view Day 2 collections as a crucial test, especially after the initial fan-driven openings. Films that hold strong on the second day usually enjoy longer theatrical runs and healthier overall returns in the Telugu states. With changing audience patterns and rising ticket prices, AP–TG Day 2 share records continue to serve as a reliable yardstick for box office success.
As new releases arrive every year with bigger expectations, it remains to be seen how long RRR’s record will stand and which upcoming film will challenge these historic Day 2 share milestones.
