Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who came from his foreign tour, immediately flew to Delhi, to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After bifurcating the Telugu states under Congress regime, the BJP government, which came to the power later, is supposed to give special category status to Andhra Pradesh, as per the AP reorganization act.
But shockingly, the BJP government mentioned several times that it is not going to grant any such status to AP. The Centre even got ready to give special package and assured other financial benefits and concessions to the state. But, be it TDP or YSRCP, never strictly fought for the status, which further worsened the situations.

TDP used the special status issue, only for his political mileage just before the recent elections and Jagan came to power, upon the promise of achieving it. But the BJP strictly said that the special category status is a closed chapter.
Hinting that there would not be any such status to any other state in the country, it also took back special status of Jammu and Kashmir by revoking Article 370. But Jagan now flew to Delhi, to convince Modi about the status. But the chances for a positive nod from the Centre are next to impossible, that a crucial point of time like now.
