Melbourne, Australia: Andhra Pradesh is set to achieve a world-class education system by 2029 through revolutionary reforms, said Minister for Education, IT, and Electronics Nara Lokesh. Speaking at the International Education Roundtable in Melbourne, organized by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), Minister Lokesh highlighted the state’s ambitious vision to prepare students for future-ready skills. Representatives from Study Melbourne, Victorian Education, and Skill Institutions attended the event.

Minister Lokesh introduced the Learning Excellence in Andhra Pradesh (LEAP) initiative, launched this year, aimed at improving student learning outcomes and guiding a new generation in education. The LEAP program focuses on holistic student development through international teaching practices. It incorporates innovative approaches such as AI-driven solutions, game-based learning, and Foundation Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) programs. The program also emphasizes technical, leadership, and real-life skills with a results-oriented approach. NEP 2020-aligned curriculum, future-ready skill training, and digital education are integral parts of this initiative, while moral values are reinforced across all levels.

Study Melbourne representatives said over 175,000 international students from 170 countries study in Victoria each year, with significant numbers from China, India, Vietnam, and Nepal. These students contribute around $12.6 billion to Victoria’s economy annually. Victoria is also a preferred destination for students seeking post-study work opportunities, scholarships, and research-oriented programs. Melbourne consistently ranks as the world’s most livable city, offering high-quality education, cultural diversity, and vibrant lifestyle. The event saw participation from top universities including the University of Melbourne, Monash University, Swinburne University of Technology, and RMIT University.

With LEAP, Andhra Pradesh is taking a bold step toward creating a future-ready, globally competitive education ecosystem, preparing students to excel in the 21st century.
