YS Jagan Mohan Reddy set out to develop R5 zone in Amaravati as a part of which he vowed to build 50,000 houses for non-Amaravati residents.
The government even allotted 1400 acres for this project and the same was flagged by the chief minister himself recently.
But cut to now, the high court of Andhra Pradesh has issued a stay on this development and ordered the AP government not to proceed with the construction of the houses till further notice.
Now, the government has to put the R5 zone house construction project on a hold indefinitely till the high court or the supreme court issues a further order on the same.
The government had been facing a fair few stay orders in the court for a long time now and the same has repeated now. The lack of all legal clearances is said to be the reason behind the stay on the R5 zone now.
