Telugu Desam Party’s national president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, stated on Wednesday that Andhra Pradesh’s reputation has been compromised during Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure.
As part of his three-day tour in the Godavari region, Mr. Naidu addressed a public gathering within the Mandapeta Assembly segment located in the Konaseema district. He emphasized that the state’s progress was halted under Jagan Reddy’s leadership, leading to a four-year period marked by a lack of development.
The former Chief Minister further pledged to refrain from increasing power tariffs and assured the public that his party, if elected in the 2024 elections, would potentially lower the current tariffs. He expressed his commitment to generating state wealth and channeling it into welfare programs for the populace once back in power.
Naidu alleged that YSRC was amassing approximately Rs 300 crore monthly through illegal sand trade. He outlined the “super six” initiatives, including Mahasakthi, Thalliki Vandanam, and Deepam, as well as the free travel provision for women on RTC buses. He also vowed to work towards attracting additional industries and investments to the state in order to generate employment opportunities for the youth.
