The Andhra Pradesh government has taken a crucial decision on the issue of movie tickets prices in the state. Following the directions of the High Court, the state government, headed by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, on Monday constituted a committee to finalise movie ticket rates. The orders have been issued to this effect.
The committee will be chaired by Principal Secretary-Home Vishwajeet along with Principal Secretaries of Revenue, Municipal Administration and Urban Development and Finance departments while V Balarathan (exhibitor), T Sitaram Prasad (distributor) and M Ramadasu (Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce vice-president) will be the members in the committee from the film industry.
The constituted committee will determine the ticket prices along with the classification of theatres in the state and will submit a report to the government soon.
The other day, producer Dil Raju said the film fraternity is ready to meet Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other ministers when they get appointments and hoped that the issue will be resolved soon.
