When the Central Government had announced that it was planning to build 3 massive Bulk Drug Parks in India, it was apparent that Andhra Pradesh was one of the best suitable states for that. While other states have already started to woo the Center with their plans and propositions, the AP government is yet to start doing that.
After receiving heavy criticism for not doing anything to make sure that it gets a Bulk Drug park , the government has finally started to take action. The government has handed over the total responsibility to APIIC, which is to make sure that AP lands the deal.
Fact is, it is the APIIC’s role to make sure that it makes lucrative offers to industries so that it can land huge deals. It is quite surprising why the APIIC was waiting until the government gave orders to do that. The government has also established the AP Bulk Drug Infrastructure Corporation, to work in close contact with the APIIC, in order to land the project at any cost.
If AP lands the project, then it will have to allocate at least 2000 Acres of land for the Bulk Drug Park. In order to make sure that the state lands the project at any cost, the government has handed over the responsibility of designing the project report to IICT-CSIR. Andhra Pradesh will get a sanction of Rs. 1000 crores, in case it manages to land the deal.
