The government of Andhra Pradesh got a huge shock when the High Court of Andhra Pradesh issued Status Quo on the Gazette notification published by the government on the 3 Capital issue.
Following the approval of the 3 Capital and CRDA Repeal bills, by the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, the YSRCP government was making everything ready to shift the capital from Amaravati to Visakhpatnam. With the High Court’s order though, a sudden break has been put to all of these plans.
Talking about this, YCP minister Perni Nani said that the government is ready to go to the Supreme Court if necessary, to make sure that the 3 Capital bill is passed. Furthermore, he said that Chandrababu is playing dirty politics, and asserted that he is making sure that Amaravati is restored as the sole capital for his personal benefits.
Perni Nani also said that the Amaravati agitation is a politically charged one, fuelled by Chandrababu, so that he can reap all the benefits. Adding to that, Nani said that the government will make sure that Andhra Pradesh has 3 Capitals, no matter what the cost.
Given that the Supreme Court hasn’t passed many orders in AP’s favor, including the one regarding SEC Nimmagadda, it is now to be seen if the SC will pass the order regarding the 3 Capitals in favor of the government, or in favor of the farmers of Amaravati.
