In an attempt to contain the coronavirus outbreak, the Andhra Pradesh government has decided to impose curfew after 12 noon in the state.
After CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s review meeting on the Covid-19 situation in the state, Minister for Health Alla Nani revealed that CM directed authorities on measures to curb the virus spread. He said that the CM ordered to increase in beds in hospitals.
Alla Nani said that officials suggested imposing curfew at scheduled times in the state. It has been discussed that only the movement should be allowed between 6 am and 12 pm.
There is a possibility of enforcing curfew from Wednesday said, Minister Alla Nani. An official announcement from the CMO on the curfew will be made once CM Jagan takes a final call regarding the same.
Meanwhile, on 2 May, Andhra Pradesh reported 23,920 fresh cases, the highest number of cases reported in a single day. The same day, 83 patients died due to Covid-19. So far, 8,136 people have succumbed to the infection.
