When the news broke out that the Telugu Desam Party wrote a letter to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, that there has been a financial discrepancy of Rs. 41,000 in the AP government’s finances, the news became politically sensational. As a result, the Chief Secretary of the Finance Ministry has now given an explanation regarding this matter.
While the Chief Secretary tried to clear things up, his crooked answer has given rise to new doubts. According to his explanation, 10,806 bills were filed under the special bill category, whose funds were later adjusted in other regards, later on, due to several reasons. He also said that the transactions made into the PD account were not utilised, which is why these records were adjusted. He said that this situation had arisen due to the non-processing of failed payments and the non-recovery of TDS adjustment for regular bills in GSTN.
The Chief Secretary also said that baseless misconceptions were being spread around, none of which had any credibility. While he said this, he didn’t answer many of the questions that the opposition posed to him, which is now creating a lot more problems for the AP government.
