The state of Andhra Pradesh is said to be the most hit state in the entire country, in the second wave of Coronavirus. As a result, the Andhra Pradesh High Court has now ordered the state government to hold daily review meetings about the situation of Coronavirus in the state.

Large-scale complaints are being made in the state, about the lack of hospital beds, and exorbitant costs of tests and medicines. The HC also asked the government to form special flying squads, which are to make sure that every hospital is being complaint of all covid guidelines.

A Public Interest Litigation petition was filed in the HC by several civil society organizations and activists, about the poor handling of the coronavirus situation in the state. After hearing the arguments related to the petition, the HC has given these orders to the state government.

The HC also asked the government to make sure that remdesivir and other medicines are available for every patient, and to make sure that every hospital displays the number of patients and available beds in the hospital.

The HC asked the government to keep a check on the prices of medicines and make sure that they are being sold at proper prices. The government has also been asked to check the availability of oxygen in the state, and to make sure that it is always available, given that a lot of lives are being lost due to the lack of oxygen, in several states.
