Here is an important note from the AP Government for those applying for pension in AP. The government has decided that the applicants for the new pensions’ Aadhaar cards must be checked thoroughly if they have changed their age in the Aadhaar Card in the recent period.
The main reason for the government to take this decision is that there have been complaints that some people are changing their age on the Aadhaar card and applying for pensions. Authorities who responded immediately brought in a new provision to see that the ineligible do not benefit.
As the Pension sum in Andhra Pradesh has been increased to Rs.2000, some people are deliberately changing their age in Aadhaar Card to make themselves eligible for the respective pension scheme. Under the new rule, pension applicants must also submit a print out of their Aadhaar card update history.
If there are any changes or additions in it, the minimum age in the Aadhaar card will be taken into consideration. The application will be sent for consideration only if the applicant is in accordance with the age eligibility rules. Otherwise the application will be rejected at the level of Digital Assistant in the Secretariats. The government has given the applicant the opportunity to appeal if he / she is denied registration of age at the time of issuance of Aadhaar card.
Such applicants are required to appeal to the village ward secretariat with proof of age. The appeal will be examined by the MPDVOs Municipal Commissioners themselves and, if eligible, will be recommended to the DRDA PDs for grant of pensions. Since January this year, 12.42 lakh new pensions have been sanctioned. Aadhaar will be scrutinized in November to identify those who have received ineligible pensioners with changes in age details. Officials said the names of those who change their age and apply for a pension on an ineligible Aadhaar will be removed from the list.
