The Andhra Pradesh government has made several debts, and this is nothing that the nation is not aware of. However, what the nation is not aware of, is the exact amount of debt that the AP government has made, where it has made it from, and how much it owes.
The Central Government truly gave a great opportunity to the state government, in terms of taking more loans. The AP government was given the opportunity to take Rs. 40,000 Crores as a loan, if only it revealed the details of its debts, in detail. The Center asked for the complete list of the debts that the AP government made in the last financial year, the complete list of debts it made with guarantees, the details of the revenue expenditure and investment that the government made.
Despite such an amazing offer, the AP government refused to give all the details to the Central government, and only gave them some of the information, withholding the rest of it. The Centre, however, did not take this information into consideration, which is why it hasn’t given the AP government to make more debts this year.
Financial experts and opposition parties are heavily criticizing the government, as it is having to depend upon debts to even pay salaries to its employee and pensions. The government is being asked to release the complete list of debts that it has made so that the people of the state would also know where all the money is going.
