The state cabinet headed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy took key decisions. The AP cabinet mainly discussed the implementation of welfare schemes.
The Cabinet approved the calendar of welfare schemes and initiated a new scheme. The government has decided to extend the EBC Nestham scheme to SC, ST, BC, Minority, and Kapu women.
In the next three years, the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 45,000 per woman beneficiary at the rate of Rs 15,000 per annum through the EBC Nestham scheme.
Also, the cabinet has announced that the private layouts should allot 5 percent of its land to the poor beneficiaries and they have decided not to give power and water connections for the illegal layouts.
The cabinet also discussed land allotments for two industrial parks in the Kadapa district. The Cabinet also discussed the large-scale movement against the privatization of the Visakhapatnam steel plant.
The Cabinet has decided to pass a resolution in the coming Assembly sessions opposing privatization.
