Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has said that the Election Commission has failed in making proper arrangements, even though the voting percentage has been increased this time. He opined that about 30% EVMs failed to work properly during the elections, which impacted the voting percentage.
Adding to it, Ganta said that the Chief Election Commissioner Gopalkrishna Dwivedi himself had accepted that the elections were not held properly in Andhra Pradesh this year. “He accepted that there was misappropriation of the votes and about 30% EVMs mis-functioned during the elections. But the election officials still managed to continue the polling till the late night in few of the constituencies in AP”, Ganta said.
The polling percentage could have witnessed much more rise, if at all the election process was conducted properly, Ganta opined. In spite of blaming the EVMs for the mis-functioning, Ganta also said that the TDP is going to form the government again in 2019 with over 125 seats in its kitty.
When the TDP and its leaders are expressing that the party is going to win with such a whooping majority, there is no point in fighting against the EC. It is only because the TDP realized their defeat and are so keen to create all the hullabaloo around, the analysts opine. However, a few others opine that TDP is just acting as if it is confident, unwilling to give any chance to the oppositions to troll.
Meanwhile, most of the surveys that were out till date, are in favor of TDP, though YSRCP is pretty confident of forming the government. However, such surveys have been released the TDP backed media and would obviously be one-sided, the experts opine. It should be noted that during the Telangana Assembly elections, the TDP backed media has created a similar atmosphere in the political circles, that the TDP alliance is going to make it big in the elections. But the thing is, the alliance couldn’t even make a considerable impact in the state.
