Unwilling to share the credit with the previous TDP government, it is known that the YSRCP government is not willing to move forward with the Capital city construction works in Amaravati. The ruling party minister Botsa Satyanaraya already hinted that the Capital city will be shifted from Amaravati.
On the other side, the BJP leaders are stating that the state government is planning to set up four Capitals in AP and thus decentralize the development. Now in the latest, the Kurnool citizens are demanding to make their city as the Capital city of AP.
According to the students, who are protesting and demanding the same, Kurnool used to be the Capital, when Andhra was bifurcated from Madras. But due to Telangana’s involvement, Kurnool was removed as Capital. So the Kurnool students are not in a mood to forgo the chance of making their city as a Capital, one more time.
While the demand for the set up of high court in Rayalaseema, had been made in the past, now the students resorting to the demand of the Capital city too in Kurnool is shocking the political circles.
BJP earlier went in support of the students protesting for the high court in Rayalaseema. Reportedly, even Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has nodded yes to the demand. But the Capital city demand is worrying the ruling party leaders.
On the other side, TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu is making use of the situation and is trying to defame the young CM, by stating that he is wasting the public money and killing the sentiments of people, by trying to shift the Capital city from Amaravati.
So Jagan is currently in a deep dilemma, and is unable to take any decision, as there is a possibility for him to face the backlash with any kind of decision. So it should be seen, how will the young CM finds a breathing space out of the situation.
