The makers of Bhogi have unveiled the first look of Anupama Parameswaran as Kandula Sulochana Rani, offering a glimpse into a grounded and intense character. Starring Sharwanand in the lead, the film is directed by Sampath Nandi and produced by K. K. Radhamohan under the Sri Sathya Sai Arts banner.
The first-look poster presents Anupama in a raw village setting, walking barefoot along a dusty path with a basket of green leaves balanced on her head and a tiffin box in hand. Dressed in a traditional half saree, her intense expression hints at a strong, resilient persona. The rural backdrop, complete with mud houses and cattle, adds an earthy authenticity to the narrative.
Sulochana Rani is portrayed as a woman closely connected to nature, earning her living by making leaf plates from Moduga leaves, often called the “Flame of the Forest.” The role is said to carry emotional depth, with Anupama reportedly working on dialect and body language to bring realism to the character.
The team has already wrapped up major schedules, including action sequences shot in Rajamahendravaram and the forest regions of Rampachodavaram and Maredumilli. The next phase of shooting is expected to begin near Hyderabad in early May.
Set in the early 1960s along the Telangana–Maharashtra border, the film also features Dimple Hayathi in a key role. With music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo and cinematography by Kishore Kumar Arokia, Bhogi is shaping up as a visually rich period drama. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 28, coinciding with the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
