Ante Sundaraniki starring Nani and Nazriya as the lead pair is carrying good expectations among the audience. Being directed by Vivek Athreya, the film has hit the silver screens today. Let’s see how it goes.
Sundar( Nani) and Leela(Nazriya Nazim) who are from two different religions become friends during a school stage show and the friendship bond continues further. In the process, at one point in time, Sundar develops interest on Leela but never dare to express it. After growing up, one fine day, Sundar proposes Leela and she accepts the proposal to get out of bad love experience with her colleague at work place. Now, the couple has a bigger challenge to impress their respective families. What will Sundar and Leela do to get their love acceptance from families? Will their plan affect the relationship between both families? How will the couple clear all the mess and get married towards the end with parents approval? To know that, you have to watch the film in the cinemas near you.
Nani just nailed it in the role of Sundar as a boy next role and did an outstanding work. Though he is not new in doing this kind of comic coated roles, Nani takes a new league in terms of performance and provides hilarious treat with his comic timing and situational fun moments. The emotional side in Nani’s acting is also showcased nicely without any medicore drama. Nani’s performance and his situational comedy are backbone for this light-hearted drama.
On the other hand, Nazriya Nazim, she is the perfect pick for the female lead role in the movie. Her confidence in acting and expressive facial features add depth to the proceedings. The chemistry between Nani and Nazriya is presented nicely.
Artists such as Naresh, Rohini, Nadiya, Azhagam Perumal perfectly fitted in the family setup as parents. Harshavardhan is hilarious in the office boss role. Heroine Anupama Parmeshwaran is cute in her cameo role and did her part quite effectively.
Director Vivek Athreya’s storyline is wafer-thin but he made sure that the screenplay of the film is packed with a good amount of fun and family emotions. The scene order and the narrative are blended nicely with gripping scenes and solid establishment proceedings.
Music by Vivek Sagar is yet another plus point for the film as his sounding is apt to the film’s genre. His background score registers. The situational bit songs add weightage to the proceedings in the second half. The cinematography by Niketh Bommi is superb as he presented the entire film on a colourful and lavish note.
Editing by Ravi Teja Girijala is okay but could have convinced the team to chop off a few lag childhood episodes to fix a perfect runtime. Production values of this romantic family drama are good.
- Artists performances
- A few lag scenes in the first half
- Lengthy runtime
In an overview, Ante Sundaraniki is an enjoyable fun family drama that has equal amount of humour and family emotions. Director Vivek Athreya’s taking, screenplay along with the natural performances of the lead artists make Ante Sundaraniki a must watch movie for the weekend.
