Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen is gaining popularity with his versatile and committed performances. His latest project, “Gangs of Godavari,” an intense gangster drama, is set to hit the big screens on May 31. Directed by Krishna Chaitanya, the film stars Anjali and Neha Shetty as the female leads and features music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, the film has been generating significant buzz. In a recent interview, Anjali shared her thoughts on the movie and her unique role.
Anjali described her character as a departure from her usual girl-next-door roles, embracing a “mass” avatar that includes using cuss words. She initially questioned the use of such language but eventually found it integral to her character, Rathnamala. She expressed her excitement about playing a role that stands out for its complexity and rawness, shedding makeup to authentically portray the 80s setting.
Rathnamala, according to Anjali, is a complex character who reacts strongly to her surroundings, making the role challenging and emotionally taxing. She revealed that embodying Rathnamala often influenced her off-screen as well. Anjali also mentioned the unique language used in the film, originating from the Lanka region, which added another layer of difficulty during dubbing.
Working with Vishwak Sen, whom she has been friends with, made the experience enjoyable and comfortable. She praised director Krishna Chaitanya for faithfully bringing the script to life and highlighted the fun atmosphere on set.
Anjali emphasized that “Gangs of Godavari” is a mass entertainer with a mix of emotions, action, and drama. The film promises to be a major breakthrough for Chaitanya and has a sequel already in the works. She also lauded the production house for their quality work and Yuvan Shankar Raja for his impactful music.
