The CII Partnership Summit 2025 in Andhra Pradesh has set a remarkable example in sustainable event management. Nara Lokesh announced that the entire summit was conducted as a near–zero-waste event, proving that large gatherings can be both impactful and environmentally responsible.
More than 1,700 ground workers worked tirelessly throughout the event to ensure that waste was handled with care. Their efforts resulted in over four tonnes of waste being completely recycled instead of being sent to landfills. This includes plastic, paper, and other disposable materials that were carefully sorted and processed.
In a rare and impressive move, all the glassware used during the summit was reused through a circular-use system. Instead of being discarded, it has been cleaned, restored and made ready for use at future events. This reflects a growing commitment to long-term sustainability practices in the state.
Nara Lokesh expressed pride in achieving this milestone and said that this will be the standard for all major events hosted in Andhra Pradesh. The government aims to continue promoting eco-friendly practices and set an example for the rest of the country.
