Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed happiness over the overwhelming response to the Advanced Quantum Skilling course offered by IIT Madras in collaboration with IBM Research under the NPTEL platform. More than 50,000 learners from Andhra Pradesh have already enrolled in the programme, reflecting the growing interest among youth in cutting-edge technologies.
Calling it a major step towards building a future-ready workforce, the Chief Minister said the strong participation has strengthened the state’s vision of creating one lakh highly skilled quantum professionals trained to global standards. He noted that such large-scale involvement clearly shows Andhra Pradesh’s potential to emerge as a leading hub for quantum research, innovation, and long-term technology investments.
Chandrababu Naidu said the state government is committed to supporting advanced education and skill development initiatives that prepare students for next-generation industries. He added that quantum technology will play a crucial role in shaping future sectors such as computing, communication, cybersecurity, and scientific research.
The Chief Minister also announced that he looks forward to personally felicitating the Gold and Silver medal winners of the course. He described them as future global leaders who will represent India in the rapidly evolving quantum domain.
The Advanced Quantum Skilling programme, jointly offered by IIT Madras and IBM Research, is designed to provide world-class exposure and practical knowledge to students and professionals. With the strong response from Andhra Pradesh, the state is steadily positioning itself as a preferred destination for high-end technology education and innovation-driven growth.
