There have been few schemes in the past focusing on the education system in Andhra Pradesh. But most of them failed to make students come to schools regularly and complete their courses on time. Interestingly, Andhra Pradesh government came up with the Amma Vodi scheme where the care takers of the students will be given Rs.15000 per year to take care of the educational expenses of the child.
Under this scheme, the family should be having a white ration card and the student should be having an Aadhar card. The scheme is valid for students from 1st standard till Intermediate. 75% attendance is compulsory for the student to get this benefit. This scheme is applicable only for the people who are below the poverty line. With the inclusion of attendance into the scheme, we can expect students to regularly go to school as the care takers will not get the money in case the attendance falls below 75%.
Parents may take the initiative of sending the children to school and maintain the attendance which helps them to clear the subjects at the end of the year. This is an interesting scheme and we shall hope that this initiative, which is beginning in January, will helps the kids to learn and grow into good students in life.
