Governments have made it mandatory for people around the world to wear masks when coronavirus infections are spreading rapidly. The authorities have also been imposing fines on people who are roaming without masks.
However, with the recent decline in Covid cases in the United States, President Joe Biden has announced that masks will no longer need to be worn as vaccination speeds up.
In the wake of this, the Fidelide Cafe restaurant in California is enforcing a waiver rule. As per reports, the management has said customers would have to pay an extra $5 on the bill if they came into the restaurant wearing a mask.
Although there is no need to wear a mask in the US, many people carry out daily activities of wearing masks for fear of virus spread. Amid this fear, some people in the restaurant are willing to pay an extra $5 to keep the mask.
However, restaurant owner Chris Castleman said the money would be donated to charities. Chris said it was not wrong in his view to charge customers $5 in this way for donating to a charity.
