Ambajipeta Marriage Band is one film that has been promoted a lot in the last few days. The film stars Suhas and Shivani Nagaram in a lead role. Bunny Vas and Venkatesh Maha present this film which has been produced by Dheeraj Mogilineni. Sekhar Chandra composed music for this film which was directed by Dushyanth Saranya Pradeep, Ramana Gokaraju, and Jagadeesh Bandari play key roles in this film which has the backing of GA 2 Pictures.
Story
The film is set in the small town of Ambajipeta and is about the lives of Malli(Suhas) and Padma(Saranya Pradeep). They both belong to a suppressed cast and have issues with the village head played by Malayalam actor Nithin. Amidst all this, Malli also falls in love with Lakshmi(Shivani Nagaram) who is the village head’s sister. A crazy turnaround of events featuring the village head and Padma creates massive tension between the upper and lower caster. How the brother and sister fight for their rights and what happens to each of their stories is the basic crux of the Ambajipeta Marriage Band.
What about on-screen performances
Suhas is a natural actor and once again proves what a charmer he is. Be it his look or performance in the film, he steals the show. He suits the character so perfectly that we cannot think of anyone else in that role. But the surprise package of the film is actress Saranya Pradeep, who plays Suhas’s sister in the film. She is amazing and gives a great performance. To date, she was seen in small roles but with this film, she has shocked one and all. Her performance is one of the biggest highlights of the film. Debut actress Shivani Nagaram is also superb in the film. She has a great screen presence and can act as well. Jagadeesh Bandari gets a good supporting role. The main villain, Nithin is also okay in his negative role.
What about off-screen talents
Shekar Chandra has composed music and there are only three songs that have been showcased so well. The background score is also quite good and it elevates the proceedings to another level. The production design of the film is superb as the camera work neatly showcases the small town setup. The dialogue in the film is amazing and so are the lyrics. The editing is perfect as there is no deviation in the storyline. What makes things special are the emotions that have been elevated solidly. The writing takes the cake as the emphasis is on emotions rather than entertainment and due to this the film looks pale in many areas.

Verdict
On the whole, Ambajipeta Marriage Band is a passable village drama that has decent performances. But the story has nothing new to showcase and runs on a single thread. The first half is very good but the key second half is predictable with a lag in the love story. All those who like rustic village dramas might like this film and suggest you to lower your expectations and watch this film this weekend.
