Typically, big films slow down by their third week, but Amaran is defying this trend. Surprisingly, it continues to dominate box office bookings, even surpassing Kanguva in states outside Tamil Nadu. On BookMyShow, Kanguva averages 5,000 tickets sold, while Amaran leads with 8,000 tickets per day, even in its third week.
Despite high expectations, Kanguva struggled to impress audiences in Telugu states, where occupancy rates dropped significantly. Meanwhile, Amaran remains a top weekend choice for families, followed closely by Lucky Bhaskar.
Although Kanguva performs decently in Tamil Nadu due to Suriya’s strong fan base, it hasn’t lived up to the producer’s lofty claims of a ₹2,000 crore collection. Buyers are now worried about sustaining momentum beyond this weekend. If Kanguva had received positive word-of-mouth, the scenario could have been different, but Amaran’s consistent performance is setting a new standard for third-week success.
