For a film to become super hit, only promotions is not sufficient. There needs to be many external factors that needs to work in favour of the movie and run time is one of them.
Even if you tell a magnificent story, you need to tell that in a crisp manner. Not many movies will work even with three hour run time.
Only promotions before the release will give the film hype which in turn results in the openings. Quality of the film and factors like run time will play a huge part.
Consider, for example, if a movie is average and the run time is crisp, audiences don’t complain much but if the run time is over 180 minutes with average stuff it will surely hinder the experience.
Now coming to the Ala Vaikunthapuramulo, reports are that, there is some discussion between Trivikram Srinivas and Allu Arjun about the run time.
Trivikram Srinivas’s rushes has run time of around 183 minutes while Allu Arjun is asking Trivikram to cut it down to around 150 minutes, which means around 30 minutes has to be trimmed down and the director is not keen in doing this.
While Allu Arjun is believing that crispier run time will be effective, Trivikram Srinivas is adamant to keep the run time at around 170 minutes, if not 183.
He is believing that the content is so strong, so audience won’t mind run time a bit. We have to wait and see whether the duo can come to any amicable conclusion.
