Alanaati Ramachandrudu is a low budget Telugu film which has caught the attention of one and all thanks to its interesting trailer. The film has Krishna Vamsi and Mokksha as the main lead and Chilukuri Akash Reddy has directed this romantic drama. Read our detailed review here.
Story
Siddhu(Krishna Vamsi) is an introvert right from his childhood onwards. He is in love with Dharani (Mokksha) but never expresses his feelings. One fine day, Siddhu decides to propose to Dharani in the college auditorium but faces a heartbreak after knowing Dharani is in love with someone else. On the other hand, Dharani makes a plan to go to Manali with her lover. But the twist in the tale arises when Dharani also lands in Manali and finds out Dharani has forgotten her past. What happened to Dharani? Did Siddhu save Dharani’s life and win his love? That is the basic storyline.
What about on-screen performances?
Hero Krishna Vamsi gets a meaty role and does well within his limitations. He had to portray so many emotions which the young actor found it difficult to portray in a few scenes. But he is okay as he is a new actor.
Mokksha, who played the female lead, is a solid find. She is cute, looks beautiful and essayed the role of Dharani in a very impressive manner. Mokksha was very good in all the emotional scenes in the film.
Venkatesh Kakumanu and Chaitanya provide decent laughs in the film and their roles have also been etched well in the narrative. The rest of the cast, Brahmaji, Sudha and others performed well in their routine roles. The rest of the cast was ordinary.
What about off-screen talents?
Alanaati Ramachandrudu is a film that is very good on paper. The actors chosen are also good, but the narration disappoints big time as the emotions do not connect and the screenplay does not hold your attention till the end.
One of the biggest disadvantages of the film is the hero’s character. He is showcased in a very soft manner, and one wonders whether such guys are really there in today’s fast paced society, and this looks odd.
Shashank K is the unsung hero of the film as his music is superb. The songs have been also shot so well and the heroine looks lovely as the camerawork is quite neat and looks classy for the most part.
Alanaati Ramachandrudu has traces of Sharwanand’s Padi Padi Leche Manasu as the basic memory loss angle reminds us of that film. The first half of the film was okay, but the second half was a huge let down.
Alanaati Ramachandrudu also is slow in the second half. There is no novelty factor in the narration, and one could expect what is going to happen next in the film. It ends on a very routine and disappointing note.
What’s Hot
- Heroine Mokksha’s performance
- Songs
- A few nostalgic moments
What’s Not
- Routine Story
- Dull narration
- Lag in second half
- Predictable climax
Verdict: Overall, Alanaati Ramachandrudu is a routine romantic drama that has a strict few moments that click. Heroine Mokksha is very good, but the rest of the narration is bland, predictable and has nothing new to showcase.
