In a shocking incident, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suffered injuries on her left leg while campaigning in Nandigram on Wednesday. She was admitted to state-run SSKM Hospital late on Wednesday evening following the incident.
Ms. Banerjee on Wednesday called it a conspiracy of a group of people, who circled her car and intentionally pushed her.
Trinamool Congress on Thursday criticised the Election Commission for failing to give security to CM Banerjee and said the EC can’t neglect responsibility as it is in charge of the law and order situation in the poll-bound West Bengal.
On the other hand, State BJP president Dilip Ghosh asked that there should be a thorough probe into the incident to know what happened. Meanwhile, followers of Mamata Banerjee are offering prayers for her recovery.
