Punjab health minister Balbir singh Siddhu flagged off 77 life support ambulances yesterday. All advance life support facilities have been arranged in the ambulance for covid-19 treatment. The Punjab health minister said all ambulances are equipped with state- of-the art equipments including life support ventilators support along with all other advance equipment for heart and respiratory complications. The service and facilities have been designed in such a way that any patient who has difficulty to get a bed or ventilator support will immediately be admitted in this ambulance to alleviate any life threatening symptoms.
The minister said rapid antigen testing is being expanded and all the related facilities for testing kits and testing labs got approval. The works are running relentlessly and would soon be introduced in 15-20 days. He further said everyone should maintain social distancing and wear mask without fail to avoid the spread.
Earlier the Punjab heath secretary earlier announced 9,000 tests per day but it wasn’t accomplished as anticipated. Reportedly Punjab had testing manifold of a mere 40 per day, which has now been enhanced. Later the government had ramped up the rapid antigen testing after availing 1000 testing kits.
