The film Hero Heroine starring Naveen Chandra and Gayatri Suresh was supposed to release on 23rd March. A hilarious subject it is and is touted to be a comeback vehicle for G Karthik Reddy, the director. Who is Karthik Reddy? He was a writer in Puri Jagan’s team and worked for Businessman, Temper, Ek Niranjan, Desamuduru etc and got an opportunity to direct Adda with Sushanth Anumolu.
He was the man who gave Sushant his first hit in the film industry. Karthik made the film in three crore and it made a business of eight crore and collected 12 crore. Unfortunately this young man never got paid for his work. Producers Naga Suseela and Chintalapudi Srinivas promised to give him 500 square yards of land in Vizag or a plot near Pragati Resorts as his remuneration but never gave him a penny after the film was declared a hit.
His picture was eliminated and distributed to the media for publicity and he never got invited for interviews with the pretext that not more than five can sit at a TV studio. Infact the item dancer in the film got more importance when he (director) actually was the writer of the story, screenplay, dialogues. What more his story Adda has been sold in two North Indian languages for thirty and thirty lakhs and not a penny was given here too.
So second time he got cheated. Karthik’s is not the first case like this ..there are many first time directors who are taken for a ride. We saw an interview in Youtube where Naga Suseela says her partner Chintalapudi Srinivas cheated her. Well, what does she have to say on cheating Karthik? Isn’t this poetic justice.
