Bollywood actress and environmentalist Juhi Chawla Monday approached the Delhi High Court against the implementation of 5G wireless networks in the country. The actress has raised concerns related to the radiation impact on people, animals, flora and fauna.
Chawla said that if the telecommunications industry’s plans for 5G come to success, no species including humans on Earth will avoid exposure, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to levels of RF radiation that are 10x to 100x times greater than what exists today.
Ch further said that these 5G plans scare to provoke serious, irreversible effects on humans and permanent damage to all the Earth’s ecosystems. However, the actress said that she is not against technological advancements in the country, including wireless communication.
The Bench of Justice C Harishankar on Monday transferred the matter to another bench of the Delhi High Court. The issue will now be heard on June 2.
