French actress Corinne Masiero, 57, has gone naked and protested at a Cesar Awards to demand the government do more to support culture during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Masiero was called to Friday’s socially distanced ceremony to present the award for best costume on a stage that felt on par with the Oscars in France. She wore a donkey costume over a blood-stained dress, before getting rid of her costume on stage.
She fully undressed on stage to reveal the message ‘No culture, no future’, which was written across her torso. She also flashed another slogan on her back which read: “Give us back art, Jean”, appealing directly to French Prime Minister Jean Castex and the French government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.
As per reports, Cinema halls in France have been shut for more than three months. Besides Corinne Masiero, other stars present during the award function made similar requests during the show.
