Not a single big-ticket film has released in theaters after the government of Andhra Pradesh imposed restriction on ticket pricing in the state. The situation is so very dire that Nani’s Tuck Jagadish had to skip theatrical release and lock Amazon Prime premieres.
Now, the makers of Acharya, Love Story, and Akhanda are waiting for AP government’s decision regarding the ticket pricing issue.
Not so long ago, it was heard that a Tollywood delegation, spearheaded by Chiranjeevi would be meeting with Jagan and discuss the ticket pricing issue. It was even reported that the chief minister Jagan is inclined towards permitting flexible ticket pricing. But this meeting is bein postponed repeatedly.
With a whole lot of uncertainty surrounding theatrical revenues, biggies like Acharya, Love Story, and Akhanda are unable to come up with consilidated release plans. Love Stroy, which was announced for 10th September release has also been postponed now. Akhanda is eyeing Dasara release and Acharya is eyeing Christmas release. But this will happen only if AP government permits flexible ticket pricing.
