TDP’s firebrand leader and former Minister Atchannaidu was arrested at today’s midnight by the Anti Corruption Beaurau officers in his own house in Srikakluam’s Tekkali Mandal. The government led by Ys Jagan has claimed that Atchannaidu is involved in around Rs 1000 crores scam in ESI. During his last tenure has Employment and Labour minister he is claimed to have involved in this scam.
The ACB conducted rides as per the report of the ACB and Enforcement Directorate who have been busy collecting all the details for the past three months. The ESI director Ramesh was also arrested in Tirupathi at the same time.
As per the ACB report, Atchannaidu faked the bills in Rs. 100 crore scam and in addition to that ACB has claimed that Atchannaidu has bought medicines for Rs 698 Crores against the allocated budget of Rs 294 Crores. They also claim that he also bought several types of surgical equipments and laboratory machines which are not at all required for the hospital that too without any invitation to tenders.
It is being alleged that during his tenure as minister, Atchannaidu linked up with some private companies who performed major scams in Telangana and got exposed. Eventually, Atchannaidu was sent to Vijayawada for further interrogation and around 8 ACB officers were involved in his arrest.
