It is very well known that the Andhra Pradesh CID department has arrested YSRCP member and Narasapuram MP Raghu Ramakrishna Raju a few days ago, at his Hyderabad residence, while he was celebrating his birthday with his family.
Following his arrest, the AP CID released a statement with the reason behind RRR’s arrest. The statement said that RRR was arrested for spreading hate and fear among the people of Andhra Pradesh, against the YSRCP government, by making hate and defamation speeches in the media.
The CID has named ABN Andhrajyothi and TV5 channels as co-accused in this case. The channels now filed separate petitions in the Supreme Court on Monday, challenging the case that the AP CID filed against them.
They said that the case that the AP CID filed against them was politically motivated and that it had no credibility to it. ABN and TV5 also requested the SC to quash the FIR filed against them.
