Allu Arjun has created cinematic history, becoming the first Telugu actor to win the National Award for Best Actor for his outstanding role in ‘Pushpa: The Rise.’ The 69th National Film Awards in New Delhi marked this significant milestone.
The awards, announced in August, were formally presented by President Droupadi Murmu in a ceremony streamed online. Allu Arjun, accompanied by his wife, Allu Sneha Reddy, accepted the award in style, donning an elegant ivory bandhgala suit.
In ‘Pushpa: The Rise,’ Allu Arjun portrayed the character of Pushpa Raj, a laborer who rises to lead a red sandalwood smuggling operation. His remarkable performance, complete with a unique walk and distinctive gestures, was widely acclaimed upon the film’s 2021 release.
Known as ‘Bunny’ in the Telugu film industry, Allu Arjun’s journey began as a child artist in 1985, eventually becoming a pan-Indian star. This accolade further solidifies his position as a powerhouse in Indian cinema and a worthy recipient of this prestigious award.
