A sudden count of 21 new Covid-19 cases were reported from Karnataka’s Davangere area on Sunday. The district which is marked green zone, recorded the most noteworthy single-day rise among the entire state’s areas.
Deputy Commissioner Mahantesh Belagi stated, “A gathering was held with the delegates and authorities of the town of Davangere after data of 21 Covid-19 cases was reported”. 330 samples of throat swabs were sent for examination. A total of 94 high-risk samples were tested in the district on Friday, and 72 on Saturday, of which 37 potential risk samples were examined and 21 cases were found positive leading the total count to 28 active cases.
Earlier, 10 cases had been identified from the locale, of which two patients had recuperated and one had passed away. Davangere’s first case was the daughter of a MP who has since recouped. All endeavours for contract tracing is constantly in progress, commissioner added.
Meanwhile, Karnataka government pulled up socks to begin operations of liquor shops, placing barricades and drawing circles to ensure proper enforcement of social distancing. Total number of cases in the state stands at 614 including 25 deaths and 293 discharges, the state health department said.
