While the tension between India and China raised to the peak, Nepal suddenly made a U turn in case of the relationship with India. Along with China, Nepal too started claiming Indian land as their own. Recently, Nepal conducted a door to door survey in the regions of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura.
The locals in this area gave a shock to the Nepalese authorities saying that they are Indian nationals. It seems that the locals refused to participate in the survey. National Planning Commission members who conducted this survey were shocked with the response. Administration department of the Pithoragarh district of India mentioned that they will stand with the locals of the disputed regions and will not allow anyone to conduct this sort of census surveys in future.
Famous Indian poet Gurajada Apparao once stated that, “Desamante Matti Kadhoi Desamante Manushuloi”, is what Nepal needs to know. Even though the nation claimed the land, the people consider themselves as Indians.
