The West Coast of USA is experiencing the worst heat waves in the last 70 years. Power grids in California were struggling to provide continuous power supply. Few regions in California experienced blackout and the utilities providers sent out mails to the customers to expect few more in the coming days.
The temperature in Death Valley region raised to 54.5C (130F) which is said to be the highest since 1913. US Weather Prediction Center mentioned that this kind of temperatures will continue for the next week. A heat dome kind of situation is being observed in Nevada and California which trapped hot air under it. This is said to be the reason for the heat waves and the experts relate it to the Earth’s Climate Change.
With the raising temperatures, water problems are expected to raise soon in the dessert styled West Coast states. Government is keeping an eye on wildfires and almost half of California is under drought condition.
