Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been facing continuous hurdles in some or the other thing he’s been trying to do, ever since he took oath as the Chief Minister of the State. Not just that, many things have been going astray in his rule, drawing a lot of criticism his way.
The most recent problem that he’s now facing is with the lift irrigation project that is being constructed on the banks of River Krishna. Jagan had promised that he would make sure that the people in every nook and corner of Rayalaseema would get water, once he came to power.
The lift irrigation project that is being constructed on the banks of Krishna river has now been obstructed by the Krishna Water Board. The board asked the government to immediately stop the construction of the project, and not to move forward with it, until further notice. The board has also asked the government to submit detailed reports of future and other projects, as per the AP Reorganization act, 2014.
Not just this, but more and more water disputes are arising for the state of Andhra Pradesh, with Telangana and other states obstructing or putting a stop to all of the water projects. With every state trying to protect its water resources the best it can, it looks as if Andhra Pradesh is in a huge problem right now, and will probably fall into more trouble very soon.
