Of late a viral video featuring a dalit farmer named Nageshwararao and his daughters assisting him in ploughing the field by replacing the oxens had gone viral. This video even reached Bollywood actor Sonu sood. He couldn’t bare at the sight and promised to deliver a tractor out of generosity within 24 hrs to Chittoor, where the family resides.
When the family were interviewed, they expressed heart felt gratitude on receiving the tractor. However, no sooner the excitement ended in a damp squib. A Local MPDO and few MRO’s visited the Farmer’s family after they received a tractor and they alleged that the family went to their village for holidaying and are not real farmers. The claimed that the person enacted as the farmer. He is actually a local politician who is a Lok Satta Party member earlier. The government officials said he even contested elections for MLA position from his constituency.
But once again Nageshwara rao and his family were contacted referring these allegations. The family were appalled to know this and one of the daughters asserted that she couldn’t see her father struggling to plough the field and assisted. While his father although a politician from poor background said, since the daughters are feeling bad, he tried to make them smile to let it not appear a burdensome job and avoid them from becoming emotional. On the flip side, Sonu sood remained silent when questioned about such behaviour of government officials.
